We went to Paris for a weekend and drove back on Monday. We stayed at Hotel Le Boulevard, which was fine for a weekend. We only had one room, but every day we were all tired from all the walking, so that was not a problem.

Driving to Paris went really well. We took the toll road and it was worth it. Getting into Paris itself was horrible — way too busy. We parked at the Interparking Chauchat Drouot car park, which was at a great location. The reviews warned that the parking spaces were small. They were not lying. I am sure that car park made them a lot of money.

The first day we saw the Notre-Dame Cathedral, which was part of the reason I wanted to go to Paris. It was very impressive. We also saw a large part of the city.

On day two we went to the Conciergerie, which also looked great. From there we walked through the city to the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, Jardin des Tuileries, and Place de la Concorde. Just for sightseeing, Paris is worth it. Next we went to Hôtel des Invalides. Napoleon’s Tomb looked very impressive. We didn’t even see all of it because we were too tired and it was really big. Because we were getting tired, we took the metro back to the restaurants closer to the hotel. The metro system works well and is easy to figure out for tourists.

The last day we went to the Eiffel Tower. It had a really long line, but it was still worth it. We took the stairs all the way up. I would really recommend people take the stairs if they can — it gives you a better impression of how high you can get at the top. The kids really liked the pizza you can get at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower.

The way back was fine, except for a blocked road at the exit for the city. That took me a while to figure out how to get out of the city. Overall we had a great weekend. But next time I would definitely go to Paris by train instead of by car.
