We spent two days in Brussels and it was just the right amount of time to see everything. We stayed at the Bedford Hotel Brussels, which was a great hotel — comfortable, well-located, and a solid base for exploring the city.

Day one was all about the classic sights. We saw Manneke Pis (tiny, as advertised), walked through the stunning Grand Place market square, and wandered over to the area around the European Parliament. The contrast between the old medieval center and the modern EU district was striking. We also found some nice parks to relax in — a good break from all the walking.

On day two we visited Mini-Europe, which was surprisingly fun — all the highlights of the continent in one place. Even some jabs about the UK leaving the EU. Right next to it is the Atomium, and it’s impossible to miss. The structure is massive and weirdly beautiful. Worth the trip just for that. But if you’ve seen it it’s not really worth coming back to for atleast 20 years.

Overall, Brussels is a nice city with good food. Two days was enough to see it all.
