Crunchy pepernoten with speculaas spices.

Ingredients

  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 125g dark brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp speculaas spices
  • 250g self-rising flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp semi-skimmed milk

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 160 °C. Knead the butter, sugar, speculaas spices, flour and salt together. Add the milk spoon by spoon until a smooth dough. Cut into 4 pieces and roll into 1 cm thick rolls. Cut into 1 cm pieces and roll into balls. Place on parchment paper and flatten. Bake for 15 minutes until light brown. Let cool.
