Speculaas Pieces

Large speculaas slab with almonds, breakable into pieces.

Ingredients

  • 175g butter
  • 150g dark brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp speculaas spices
  • 300g flour
  • 2 tbsp water
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

Sift the flour into a bowl. Cut the butter into cubes. Add the flour, sugar, spices, butter and salt to the food processor and mix. Gradually add the ice-cold water while mixing. Mix into a smooth dough. Form a ball and let rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 175 °C. Roll out the dough to 1 cm thick. Line the baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the dough on it and press almonds into the dough. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Let cool and serve in pieces.
