South-African spiced minced meat dish with curry and raisins.

Ingredients

  • 400g minced meat
  • 400g green beans
  • 1 green bell pepper (pieces)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 apples (diced)
  • optional 1 banana (sliced)
  • 200 ml crème fraiche
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp curry
  • 2 tbsp turmeric
  • 50g raisins
  • pepper and salt
  • rice

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Cook the green beans for about 15 minutes until al dente. Heat a splash of olive oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion. Season the minced meat with salt and pepper and brown with the onion. Cook the minced meat crumbly and brown. Add the bell pepper pieces and cook briefly. Finally add the cooked green beans to the mixture. Remove from heat. Add the crème fraiche and egg, together with the turmeric and curry powder. Also add the apple pieces and optional banana. Grease an oven dish and add the minced meat mixture. Bake the dish for 20 minutes. Meanwhile cook the rice and soak the raisins in some lukewarm water. Add the raisins to the cooked rice. Serve with rice.
